Earlier this year, when my daughter performed in the musical Hadestown, I assisted backstage.
About an hour and a half before the performance, I ironed her shirt. I ironed her suit. I tied her tie.
I was staff.
Then I thought, “Why I gotta pay for a ticket! I’m staff! . . . Y’all should just let me in!”
Nevertheless, I still had to get a ticket.
No matter who you are, you need a ticket. No matter who you are, you can’t gain access without a ticket.
In this life, God is the Ticket.
