Back in the day, my aunts covered their couches with plastic.
This wasn’t cheap, flimsy plastic.
This was thick, Grade A plastic. It was immovable, unrelenting, unbendable plastic.
And you had to be careful when you sat down on one of these couches because you could get stuck.
Even if you wanted to pop up quickly, you couldn’t. You needed significant lower-body strength to rise from one of these magnetic couches.
Now, if your flesh was exposed, somebody needed to get some Crisco and a spatula to scrape you off the couch. If not, you’d peel your skin.
The purpose of this super-plastic was to protect the couch from dirt, stains, and spills.
Just as the plastic protected the couch, so God’s favor protects you.
God’s favor is your Protective Plastic.
You survived what you went through because of God’s favor.
