ThunderCats

When I was a kid in the 1980s, I watched the cartoon ThunderCats, which chronicles the adventures of catlike humans from the planet Thundera.

The leader of the ThunderCats was Lion-O, who carried a legendary sword known as the Sword of Omens. This sword was a source of unlimited power and protection.

The archenemy of the ThunderCats was the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra, whose primary objective was to steal the Sword of Omens from the ThunderCats.

In one episode, Mumm-Ra disguises himself as an ally of the ThunderCats and steals the sword. But when Mumm-Ra steals the sword, it doesn’t work for him. The sword only works when it’s in Lion-O’s hands.

Similarly, some things in your life only work when they’re in God’s hands. God can do what you cannot do.

In Psalm 127:1, the songwriter couldn’t express it any better: “Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
