My daughter and I like Marvel movies.
She’s a bigger fan than I am.
Later this year, a highly anticipated Marvel movie will come out: Avengers: Doomsday.
So early one morning in July, she wakes up, staggers down the stairs with her eyes barely open, and groggily asks me, “Can you get the tickets?”
I answered, “Huh? Tickets for what?”
She said, “Avengers: Doomsday.”
I replied, “The movie doesn’t come out until December.”
She said, “I know. Can you get the tickets?”
(Now, keep in mind that it’s July.)
I asked, “When do the tickets go on sale?”
She answered, “They went on sale five minutes ago.”
(It’s July!)
She said, “Can you just get the tickets before they sell out? They’re going to sell out.”
So what did I do? I bought the tickets—five months early.
And the other day, I looked online just to see how many seats were left for this particular show.
The only seats left are those in the front.
The lesson?
Don’t wait until the day to buy the tickets for the day.
Prepare in the present for what you desire in the future.
