Every Smudge of Butter

The other day, after I baked a sweet potato, I grabbed a container of butter out of the fridge.

Now, I had two tubs of butter in there. One was new and unopened. The other tub had just a little left on the sides and in the corners.

I wasn’t about to open the new container until I used all the butter in the old container.

So I grabbed the butter knife and scraped, and scraped, and scraped every corner of the old container until it was bone dry.

I was determined to get every smudge out of that container.

And just as I was determined to get every bit of butter out of the container, so God is determined to get some good out of everything you go through.

God won’t waste a smudge.

God will scrape, and scrape, and scrape to get some good out of the bad.

God can get joy out of the junk, purpose out of your pain, and strength out of your struggle.
