A couple weeks ago, as a sermon illustration, I ask one of our members Anthony to light a Bath and Body Works scented candle.
After he lights the candle, we keep the candle lit for the duration of the service.
After service, after I greet the members as they leave the building, I reenter the worship space. When I reenter the gym, I smell the aroma from the candle. The aroma from that small candle had permeated that big room.
Just as that small candle made a big difference in that room, so also faith is a small thing that can make a big difference in your life.
In Luke 17:6, Jesus puts it like this: “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
