Rejoicing in Advance

This year for my birthday, several members of our congregation surprised me with Nike gift cards for me to cop a few pair of Air Jordan sneakers.

After I was presented with the gift cards, I was so excited that I immediately ran to the wall and back.

Even though I had not used the cards yet, I didn’t wait until I had shoes in my possession before I rejoiced.

I didn’t wait until the future before I rejoiced over the future.

Likewise, you don’t have to wait until you have the blessing in hand before you rejoice. You can rejoice in the present over what God can do in the future.
