I give my college students a quiz almost every Friday. A while back, one of my students didn’t come to class for the quiz. But after class that day, while I was in the dining hall eating lunch, I saw her drop off her coat at a table on the other side of the room.
When I saw her, I said, "Hmm! Would you look at this?"
At that point, I felt led in my spirit to walk over to the other side of the room and wait for her at her table.
When she returned and saw me at the table, she shouted, "Professor Enis! I didn’t come to class today!"
I said, "No! Really?"
She said, "I’m sorry I missed my quiz!"
I said, "Don’t worry! . . . You can take it right now!"
She said, "Uh! . . . I don’t have a pen!"
So, I reached into my pocket and said, "Today’s your lucky day, because I just happen to have a pen right here!”
I had what she needed!
And just as I had what she needed, so also God has what you need. Whatever you need is in God’s pocket. If you need hope, or strength, or grace, it’s in God’s pocket! Whatever you need is in God’s pocket!
