A few weeks ago, I order Olive Garden by way of carryout.
After I pull into the parking spot, the associate brings the food to my car.
I look in the bag.
Just before she walks away, I ask, “Ma’am, can you do me a favor? Can you bring me some extra mints, please?”
(I love the delectable Andes chocolate mints at Olive Garden!)
She agrees.
When she finally returns to my car, she hands me a plastic bag filled with thirty mints—thirty mints! When she gives me the mint-filled bag, she doesn’t just meet my expectations. She exceeds my expectations.
Likewise, there are times when God won’t just meet your expectations, but God will exceed your expectations.
