I don’t know much about gardening, but a few months ago, I did learn that it’s possible to grow a plant in a jar. This process is simple. Put the dirt in the jar. Spread seeds on top of the dirt. Cover up the seeds with more dirt. Then water the seeds and dirt. Eventually, your plant is going to start growing.
But here’s what I also learned. If you place a lid on the jar, you’ll limit the growth potential of the plant—because the plant cannot grow beyond the lid.
Likewise, when you walk without faith, rather than walk by faith, you’re placing a lid on the possibilities for your life, a lid on the capacity for your life, a lid on the potential for your life.
Take the lid off. Believe God. Trust God. Lean on God. Have faith in God.
