Last year I volunteered at my daughter’s school for Field Day. And it was hotter than Texas Pete out there!
To protect myself from the sun, every now and then I would stand under a tree. I would stand in the shade. The shade didn’t remove me from the heat. But the shade gave me comfort in the midst of the heat.
In Psalm 121:5, the songwriter says, “The LORD is your shade.” As your shade, God may not always remove you from your situation, but can provide you comfort, so that you’re able to endure your situation.
