Embracing the New Thing

A couple years ago, I bought a MacBook Air computer—my first Apple computer. Prior to making this purchase, I had always used a PC. I had always used Windows.

Now, the operating system of the Mac differs significantly from the PC. So when I first bought the computer, I would just look at the screen and admire its design, because I didn’t know what else to do. And after about three days, I even considered returning the Mac to the Apple store.

So initially, I couldn’t appreciate the new thing, because I was uncomfortable with the new thing.

Two years later, however, the Mac and I are closer than Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble! Today, I can say with complete certainty that the Mac is the very best computer that I’ve ever had in my life.

I see clearly now that if I had given up on the new thing too early, I would have missed out.

And I believe that there are some new things that God wants to do for you, with you, in you, and through you in your present that will make you forget all about your past.
